Privacy & Player Data Policy

Last updated: September 2026

At Proseed Football, player data has a purpose: to help us understand how a player performs and use that information to support their development.

We collect performance information through wearable technology, player assessments, coaching observations and, where applicable, video. This information forms part of our M.A.P. methodology — Measure, Assess, Perform.

We take the privacy of players and families seriously, particularly because many of the players we work with are children and young people.

What information do we collect?

Depending on the Proseed service being used, we may collect:

  • Player name, age, date of birth and contact details

  • Parent or guardian contact details

  • Club, team and playing-position information

  • Physical information relevant to player development

  • Wearable tracking and performance data

  • Running, speed, workload and movement metrics

  • Ball-possession and technical performance data

  • Training and match history

  • Player assessments and development information

  • Player and coach feedback

  • Video footage where video analysis is part of the service

  • Information about injuries, fitness or physical limitations where relevant to safely providing our services

We only seek information that is reasonably necessary for the services we provide.

How is player data used?

Player data is primarily used within our M.A.P. methodology.

Measure — We collect objective information about what the player does during matches, training and assessments.

Assess — We evaluate that information to identify patterns, strengths, development priorities and changes over time.

Perform — Those findings help inform personalised development activities, including coaching sessions, workshops and Individual Development Plans where these form part of the player's service.

We may also compare results over time and against appropriate player, positional, team or unit benchmarks.

Performance data does not provide a complete assessment of a footballer on its own. It is one source of evidence that can be combined with coaching observation, player feedback and, where appropriate, video analysis.

Trend analysis and benchmarking

Proseed may use player performance information to identify broader trends and improve our understanding of junior player development.

Where individual identification is not necessary, we will use de-identified or aggregated information for this purpose.

For example, we may analyse typical possession levels, physical outputs or development trends across groups of players without publishing the identity of individual players.

We will not publicly identify a player from this analysis without appropriate permission.

Who can access player information?

Access is limited to people and organisations who reasonably require it to provide the relevant Proseed service. This may include:

  • Proseed coaches and authorised personnel

  • The player

  • A parent or guardian where appropriate

  • Technology providers used to collect, process or store performance information

  • A player's coach or club where this forms part of the service and the appropriate permission has been obtained

We do not sell personal player information to third parties.

We will not provide identifiable player performance data to another club, scout, academy, commercial organisation or unrelated third party without appropriate consent, unless disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Technology providers

Proseed uses third-party technology to collect, analyse, process and store some player information.

These providers may process information on our behalf and may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and United Kingdom. Where it is not practicable to identify every country in which information may be stored (for example, where a provider uses distributed cloud infrastructure), we will make this information available on request.

Where third-party services are used, Proseed takes reasonable steps to select appropriate providers and understand how player information is handled.

Players and parents should be aware that third-party services may also operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal and performance information against misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

Security measures may include access controls, secure accounts, encrypted systems and other safeguards provided by the technology platforms we use.

No online or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children and young players

Proseed works extensively with junior footballers.

Australian privacy law does not prescribe a single age at which every young person automatically becomes capable of making their own privacy decisions. A young person's ability to provide consent depends on whether they have sufficient understanding of what is being proposed.

Where appropriate, Proseed will obtain consent from a parent or guardian, particularly for younger players or where the player may not have sufficient capacity to understand the collection and use of their information.

We also believe young players should understand, in age-appropriate language, what information is being collected and why.

We monitor developments under the OAIC's Children's Online Privacy Code.

Sensitive and health information

Some information provided to Proseed — particularly information concerning injuries, physical health or medical limitations — may constitute sensitive or health information.

Where consent is required, we will seek appropriate consent before collecting or using this information.

Players and parents should only provide health information that is relevant to the safe and effective delivery of the service.

Access and correction

You may contact Proseed to request access to personal information we hold about you or your child, or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

There may be circumstances in which access can lawfully be limited. Where applicable, we will explain the reason.

Withdrawing consent

Where we rely on consent, that consent may be withdrawn.

Withdrawal will not retrospectively invalidate authorised use of information that has already occurred, but it may prevent us from providing services that depend on particular performance information or technology.

How long do we keep player data?

Player information is retained only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected, for legitimate record-keeping requirements, or where retention is required by law.

When identifiable information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it where appropriate.

De-identified statistical information may be retained for longer-term research, benchmarking and trend analysis where an individual can no longer reasonably be identified.

Photographs and video

Where Proseed records identifiable photographs or video for coaching, analysis, promotional or other purposes, we will explain the intended use and obtain appropriate permission where required.

Permission to use images or video for marketing or promotional purposes is separate from permission to use video for player analysis.

Declining promotional consent will not prevent a player from receiving Proseed coaching services unless photography or video is an essential component of the particular service being purchased.

Australian privacy law

Proseed seeks to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) where they apply.

Given the nature of player performance, fitness and potentially health information handled by Proseed, we take a privacy-by-design approach even where a particular legal obligation may not apply.
